Description
  • DBS: Deep Brain Stimulation - is an elective surgical procedure in which electrodes are implanted into certain brain areas
  • EEG: Electroencephalography - a test that detects electrical activity in brain using small, metal discs (electrodes) attached to scalp
  • Video EEG: Video Electroencephalography (2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours) - A video EEG records on video tape while an EEG test records your brainwaves
  • EMG: Electromyography - measures muscle response or electrical activity in response to a nerve's stimulation of the muscle
  • NCV: Nerve conduction velocity - measures how fast an electrical impulse moves through the nerve
  • SSEP: Somatosensory evoked potentials – it measures the electrical activity of the brain that results from the stimulation of touch.
  • BERA: Brainstem auditory evoked response – This test records brainwaves in response to clicks or other audio tones that are played and measures how brain responds to sound heard.
  • VEP: Visual evoked potentials – This test is measured by playing a visual that will stimulate activity
  • ERG: Electro-retinography – it measures the electrical response of the eye's light-sensitive cells, called rods and cones
