The Gynacecology department of P. D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC specializes in women’s health. They deal with a wide range of issues menstruation and fertility issues, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), hormone disorders, excluding obstetrics.
Consultants at P. D. Hinduja are on the national panel of Obstetrics and Gynecology Society and on the international panel of the Federation of Endoscopic Surgeons.
P.D. Hinduja Hospital was the first hospital to start an Indian Menopause Society and have a regular Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) clinic for the same. It is also the first hospital in the country to have started the Gasless Laproscopic procedures and surgery for which we have the laprolift set up at the Operation theatre. After completing her residency training at Sir J.J Group of Hospitals, Mumbai, in 2005, she worked as an Associate Professor at the Grant’s Medical College Hospital, Mumbai, for over 5 years with Dept. of ObGy, where she gained considerable experience in treating patients. She has fourteen years of teaching experience and has instructed residents and mentored many fellows.
Dr Gaurav Desai is a highly respected gynaecological surgeon known for his expertise in advanced pelvic and minimally invasive surgeries. With vast experience of hundreds of complex pelvic procedures, he specialises in laparoscopic and robotic hysterectomy, as well as the treatment of endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, and other challenging pelvic conditions.

Dr. Ashwini Bhalerao Gandhi is the senior most Hospital Based Consultant in Gynaecology at P. D. Hinduja National Hospital and Research Center, Mahim, Mumbai since 25 years. She has more than 36 years of clinical experience. She is also attached to P. D. Hinduja Hospital, Khar.
In her previous appointments she served as Associate Professor and Examiner of PG & UG programmes in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at T. N. Medical College & B. Y. L. Nair Hospital, Mumbai.
