The Department of Rheumatology, P. D. Hinduja Hospital is excited to announce our upcoming conference. Join us for an insightful day featuring expert speakers, case discussions, and the latest in IgG4-related disease research.
IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a rare, systemic condition characterized by inflammation and fibrosis in multiple organs due to IgG4-positive plasma cell infiltration. It can affect organs such as the pancreas, bile ducts, salivary glands, kidneys, and lungs, often presenting with organ enlargement and mass-like lesions. Diagnosing IgG4-RD is challenging because it mimics other diseases including cancer and infection, but it is treatable with corticosteroids and immunosuppressive therapies to manage inflammation and prevent organ damage.
