Dr. Shrinivas M Rohidas has started Destandau’s technique first in India in 2002, He has conducted live & cadaveric demonstrations of Destandau technique at AIIMS Delhi, NIMHANS Bangalore, PGI Chandigarh, Bombay hospital, Bhubaneshwar, Nagpur, Indore, Bangalore, Madurai, Coimbtore, Hyderabad, Ahmadabad, JJ Hospital, Mumbai, Sian Hospital Mumbai, during various conferences. He has conducted cadaveric & live demonstrations in Malaysia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Pakistan, Jeddah, Syria, USA, Egypt, Turky, Japan, South Korea, China, Iran, Seychelles, Philipens, Thailand, etc.
He has developed “ Ultrasonic Bone dissector” with a Garman company Soering and is in market since 2010. He is using 3 D endoscope- Tipcam 3 D by Storz Germany since 2017, only centre in World & India using 3 D endoscope for spine endoscopic spine surgery.
After completing his, M.S.- Gen Surgery- Wanless Hospital Miraj & M. Ch., training at, K E M Hospital Mumbai, in Neurosurgery, he runs his own hospital –Prakruti clinic – Dr. Rohidas’s Centre for Minimally Invasive Spine & Neurosurgery at Kolhapur, for over 28 years with 20 yrs experience in Endoscopic Spine Surgery-Destandau’s technique. He has 15 yrs experience of teaching, -conducting, - live demonstrations, cadaver demonstrations of Destandau’s technique, and runs dedicated courses of technique.
- Dr. Shrinivas is founder of association WESS- World Endoscopic Spine Society, and founder of association MISSAB- Minimally Invasive Spine Surgeons association of Bharat.
- He is also a founder member of Association MISSAB- and was President of association since 2016-2018. He is president of association WESS at present.
Dr. Shrinivas M Rohidas has published book about Destandau’s technique – with Thieme publication in 2016- Endoscopic Spine Surgery- Destandau’s technique. He has written chapters in endoscopic spine surgery books.
