He is an Internationally Acclaimed Medical Oncologist, and has treated more than 1 lakh patients and an authority in Head & Neck Cancers, Brain tumors, Thoracic and Urology tumors.
After completing his medical oncology residency training at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, in 2013, he worked as an assistant professor in Malabar Cancer Center Kerala and then joined the Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai in 2015. Where he gained considerable experience in treating cancer patients and performed pioneering research which got published in leading oncology journals like Journal of Clinical oncology, Lancet group of Journals, Annals of Oncology, and Journal of the National Cancer Institute etc. He has 10 years of teaching experience and has instructed residents. He was formerly at the Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, till this new position with us.
He is a member and secretary of the West zone of Indian Society of Medical and Pediatric Oncology, Indian Cooperative Oncology Network and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
He is also the reviewer for the Lancet group of journals, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Oral Oncology, Head and Neck Journal, Elsevier Journals and Wiley journals. He also serves on the Editorial Board of Cancer Research Statistics and Treatment.
Dr. Vijay Patil is the recipient of the Australia & Asia Pacific Oncology Research Development Workshop (ACORD) Fellowship awarded by the Medical Oncology Group of Australia in 2012. He is the recipient of IDEA award and fellowship 2014 awarded by American society of Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Patil has participated and conceptualized over 500 publications for development of metronomic, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, Geriatric oncology and precision medicine. His impressive research accolades include pioneering research publications that have transformed treatment paradigms, development of new and affordable treatments which provide rays of hope for millions of patients across the globe.
