Dr. Manju Butani, M.D, graduated from the anaesthesiology training program of Seth G. S. Medical College and KEM group of hospitals, Mumbai, in 1981.
Dr. Butani is currently working as the Head of Department of Anaesthesiology and Operating rooms at the prestigious multi-speciality tertiary care, Hinduja Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai.
She is the past-president of Research Society of Anaesthesiology and clinical pharmacology (RSACP), Indian Society of Cardiovascular Thoracic Anaesthesiology (IACTA), the Mumbai chapter of Indian Society of Anaesthesia (ISA).
She was also representing the Indian group at some of the World congress in Anaesthesiology. She has actively and successfully conducted international conferences and workshops, to promote education in the field of Anaesthesiology in India.
Her special interests have ranged from Cardiac anaesthesia, Orthopaedics and Pain Management. Hinduja Hospital was amongst the earliest to have an Acute and Chronic Pain service.
She has been actively involved in the design and development of Operation Theatre and intensive care units. She has presented papers and participated as faculty at various national and international conferences.
