  • He was Clinical Professor, Dept of Neurosurgery, Macquarie University, NSW, Australia (2012 – 2014).
  • Earlier to joining P D Hinduja Hospital, he was Professor (Addl). Department of Neurosurgery Shree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Trivandrum, India
  • Under his guidance P D Hinduja Hospital & MRC was the first hospital in South Asia to acquire Gamma Knife technology.

  • Dr. Basant Kumar Misra completed his early education in Bhubaneshwar and successfully completed his MBBS from VSS Medical College, Sambalpur University in Burla, Orissa, where he received the award of Best Graduate of the University and was the recipient of 4 Gold medals in the MBBS course.
  • He completed his post graduation in General Surgery from Delhi University and his MCh. Neurosurgery from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
  • During his illustrated educational path he has been the recipient of the Pfizer Post Graduate Medical Award and the Commonwealth Medical Scholar, Edinburgh University, UK.
  • Dr. Basant Kumar lives in Mumbai with his wife Mrs. Sasmita Misra and two sons, Sarthak who is currently a Consultant Psychiatrist in USA and Siddharth, an investment banker in London.
