Dr. Abhijit G. Warade is a Consultant Neurosurgeon with nearly 19 years of experience in the field of Neurosciences and Neurosurgery. He brings with him 12 years of academic and teaching experience, having trained neurosurgery residents and mentored several national and international visiting fellows. Notably, he was the sole candidate to qualify in Neurosurgery in Mumbai during his examination year.
Dr. Warade has received advanced international training and holds a World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) Clinical Fellowship in Skull Base Endoscopy from Carlos Haya University Hospital, Málaga, Spain. He has also completed a Clinical Hands-On Fellowship in Pediatric and Epilepsy Neurosurgery at Alberta Children’s Hospital, Calgary, Canada.
Prior to joining P. D. Hinduja Hospital, Dr. Warade served as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at MIOT International Hospital, Chennai.
With a strong academic orientation, Dr. Warade has authored over 50 national and international publications, including journal articles and book chapters. He has delivered numerous podium presentations and has served as a session chair at prestigious national and international conferences.
Driven by his interest in research, Dr. Warade has played a key role in establishing a collaborative research initiative with a leading hospital in Toronto, Canada, making Hinduja Hospital the only Indian hospital to partner with a Canadian institution for research on severe head injury patients. He has also been appointed to the Young Neurosurgeons Committee of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies.
Clinically, his areas of expertise include Awake Craniotomy, Skull Base Tumours, Spinal Tumours, Vascular Neurosurgery, Functional Neurosurgery, and the management of complex brain and spinal tumours.
