Dr. Tanya Mathew Varghese is a full-time junior Consultant in Pediatrics and Pediatric ICU. She
is committed towards improving the physical and emotional health of every patient she encounters, while being empathetic to their caregivers and mindful of their family situation. She believes in practicing medicine with utmost rationality and ethics, echoing the principles of the department and institute – keeping UpToDate with latest guidelines and practices, prescribing medicines only where necessary and keeping comfort of the child as priority as much as possible.
She is actively involved in departmental activities including training of post graduate students and nursing staff, maintaining due diligence of latest protocols and timely audits of health care practices and performance indicators
Fellowship in Pediatric intensive care
After completing MD Pediatrics in Satara, Maharashtra, she worked and trained in B.J Wadia hospital for children, Mumbai (India’s first specialized Pediatric hospital and a referral center of worldwide repute) for an IAP PICU fellowship where she managed critical medical and surgical patients of various subspecialties like Hemato-oncology, Neurology, Infectious Diseases, Pulmonology, gastroenterology, Nephrology, Bone marrow transplant and Immunology, Cardiology.
Post fellowship, she worked in multiple corporate Hospitals in Mumbai including being part of a Pediatric Liver transplant team at Gleneagles Hospital Parel, before joining P.D. Hinduja Mahim.
