Dr Savari Desai, is a Gold medalist trained Ophthalmic Surgeon. She has further done her super specialization in the field of Oculoplasty, Orbit, Ocular oncology and Facial aesthetics from the prestigious L.V.Prasad Eye institute. She has been solely practicing her specialty for the last 20 years. The field of Oculoplasty involves the disease and deformitites of the eyelid, orbit, lacrimal, trauma and facial aesthetics She was attached as a Honorary professor at the Tata Memorial Hospital and helped to establish protocols in Eye cancers, especially Retinoblastoma (Intraocular childhood malignant cancer). Her focus on treating eyelid conditions such as Ptosis, Thyroid related eye disease and Orbital and eyelid trauma, has won her awards for her work and recognition amongst her peers. Her special interest also lies in facial aesthetics and the ageing face, treating facial spasms and botox and fillers, She strongly believes that the best care is by involving the patients, and takes the time to explain the processes related to their treatment and surgical management. Her passion lies in teaching and she has been in organizing secretary for the Oculoplastic Association of India (OPAI -the parent body ), and created many teaching videos for which she has won many awards. She is currently the Chairperson of the Scientific Committee of the OPAI. She is an avid film buff and loves creating videos.
