Dr. Anand Joshi

Dr. Anand Joshi has been associated with P.D. Hinduja National Hospital for 26 years. He joined P.D. Hinduja National Hospital in February 1987 as resident in medicine and ICU and worked for 1 year. In February 1988 he joined division of Gastroenterology in department of Medicine at P.D. Hinduja National Hospital and as junior and senior resident and later as Inhouse Staff Consultant.

Since 1992, he has been continuing as Consultant Gastroenterology in same institution. He has performed more than 15,000 endoscopies (e.g. Therapeutic GI endoscopies prosthesis placement, Glue injection, foreign body extraction, polypectomy, chromoendoscopy, band ligation, laser ablation (Ng Yag) of tumour, alcohol injection of tumour, pyloric stensois balloon dialation and placement of endoprosthesis) Therapeutic ERCP (e.g. Sphincterotomy, plastic and metallic stent placement, stone extraction, mechanical lithotripsy etc.)

In 2002, he worked in Hematology departemnt, queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birhingham, UK for training of Liver transfusion. Since then he has managed 5 cadover liver transplantation. In 2004, he worked in Endoscopy department, Universty of Alabames, USA for Endoscopic ultrasound training. Since then he has done more than 1000 Endoscopies.

He began his graduation training in general medicine in 1984. As SHO he did trainning in general medicine, neurology, TB and chest medicine. He worked as Registrar in ICCU for 6 months at St. Geore's Hospital before he took up as Registrar in General Medicine, MGM Hospital for 12 months. He completed my post graduation training in January 1987.

He started his undergraduate medical training in 1978 in Grand Medical College and J. J. Hospital and completed his graduation in 1983. in 1983, he completed 1 year rotating internship which involved 6 month rural hospital experience and 6 month training in urban hospital especially in rural primary health care centre and later in urban civil hospital. He worked in all speciality including gynaecology, obstetrics, orthopaedics, general medicine, surgery, etc.
